We stopped in for a drink while waiting for our carry out pizza from the joint next door.  Bartender was friendly and was having a good time bantering with the patrons (the Loudens).    The owner greeted us as we entered then disappeared to the back room.   He emerged a few minutes later with three trays of food for everyone to enjoy.    Complimentary!   Tasty assortment of SE WI local sausages from Ashapin and also venison Summer sausage Karl's Country Market.  Cheeses.  Crackers. Pickled eggs.   What a Wisconsin treat!

Made us feel right at home.    Thank you sir..

The door to the Bark River Yacht Club is not your ordinary door- it's a wormhole to 1977!

The food here is totally fine and fresh.  The people are very friendly.  They had a lot going on considering it's so small and frankly in the very small town America.  They had a Texas hold'em tourney for about 50 people staring and most everyone at the bar was watching the Masters.

I had a patty melt what was good, and for anyone who's read my reviews, an iced tea.  The iced tea was served from an olds school Tupperware container!  The sandwiches come on- wait for it - sandwich bread - old school lunch style - it's just bread which is cool! Last but not least, my friends were able to order shorties!!!  When was the last time you saw a shorty tapper for $2 or less?!

Nice to just be around real people!

Finding this place was a fluke.  My wife and I were camping at Kettle Morraine with 3 other couples and we searched online for a fish fry.  This place came up.  What the hell, give it a shot.  I explained on the way in that we qualified for the "yacht club" because I had my canoe on the top of my pickup.  Ordered drinks - very good old fashion - and appetizers.  Service was great! Ordered the shrimp and cod combo and was very very pleased.  Everything perfectly done. Sides included home made Cole slaw, German potato salad and rye bread.  All very good.  Will be back here any time we are in the area.
